What exactly is portfoliopool?

Portfoliopool is a platform for creatives of every branch. Artistic works are bundled and findable in portfoliopool. The interdisciplinary and nationwide exchange between creatives is fostered by the network functions of portfoliopool. Additionally, an event database is available for you.

Do I have to register in order to create a portfolio?

Yes, you have to register in order to create a portfolio.

What happens to my copyrights?

All copyrights and ancillary copyrights remain to you respectively the beneficiary. Portfoliopool merely receives the right, to show the content uploaded by you on Portfoliopool.com. You can find further information in our terms & conditions.

Why Portfoliopool?

Portfoliopool.com shall unite creative professionals all over the world and support them in their selfmerchandising. The platform serves as a source of inspiration for artists, willing to broaden their horizon. In doing so the focus lies on a precious presentation of visual work. Portfoliopool.com has no ads and a relies on a reserved design taking a back seat.

Which kinds of membership do exist?

As a creative, company or observer you can register on portfoliopool.

How can I cancel my membership?

A cancellation can either be submitted in written form by post or fax or in the section “My Account / Private / Settings / Delete/Cancel Portfolio”.

USABILITY

What is the MEMO function?

The MEMO function is a kind of aide memoire. You can store portfolios, projects and events in your MEMO and find them again easily. When you are logged in your MEMO memorizes the elements you have stored.

What are groups?

Groups are topic-related unions of PP users.

How do I found new groups?

Just go to “My Account / My Portfolio / Groups / Found New Group”.

Can I exclude users from my groups?

As a group founder you can decide who gets access to your group. A later exclusion of a member is not possible.

Can I advertise on portfoliopool?

You cannot advertise on portfoliopool. The only possibility of advertising is the presentation of your own portfolio.

Is a phone support available?

No, unfortunately we cannot offer a phone support at the moment. If you have any questions, please contact us via our contact form.

MASTERPOOL

What is a master portfolio?

A master portfolio is a portfolio nominated by Portfoliopool.com. The decisive factor for this honour is the quality of the portfolio. The artist behind a master portfolio is a member of the Masterpool.

What is the masterpool?

The Masterpool is a carefully selected circle of portfoliopool users. Exceptionally talented users whose special accomplishments stand out in their field of work are admitted. Prerequisite for the admission is a portfolio of outstanding quality. All members of the masterpool enjoy special privileges. They occur on the cover page, are preferably listed in search requests and are given the rating “Member of Masterpool”.

How do I become a member of the Masterpool?

Qualified users are being nominated and admitted to the Masterpool by the Portfoliopool Team. There is no need to make an application. Basic prerequisite for the membership in the Masterpool is an outstanding aptitude and a public portfolio.

Can I find out if I am going to be admitted to the Masterpool before I register?

No. Before you have not created a complete Portfoliopool portfolio, we can't make any decisions in this regard. A Masterpool membership is only available with a public portfolio.

Can I apply for the Masterpool?

No. Applications are pointless. The Portfoliopool Team decides if and when somebody is admitted to the Masterpool. Continiously inquiring is not going to help you. If somebody has great potential, we are going to discover that. Please don't push for it. This might backfire. ;-)

Once Masterpool = for ever Masterpool?

There is no guarantee for an everlasting membership in the Masterpool. Inevitable prerequisite for a long membership in the Masterpool is a carefully created and continiously updated Portfoliopool portfolio. No sweet without sweat. Don't rely on your Red Dots.

MY ACCOUNT / MY PROFILE

Who can see information on my profile page?

As a registered member you can decide which information from your profile can be seen by which users (registered user, non-registered user, user in your own network). Confidential information, e.g. your contact information, are generally not open to the public.

What happens to my data? What about data privacy?

Portfoliopool keeps all user data strictly confidential. No data is passed on to third parties.

How can I delete my profile and my data?

Every user can delete the profile in the section “My Account / Private / Settings / Delete/Cancel Portfolio”.

Which payment methods do exist?

Fee required services can be paid by prepayment, direct withdrawal, paypal or invoice*. (*only for companies)

Can I see who had a look at my profile? / Can other users see that I looked at their profile?

In general, all users have the possibility of seeing who visited their profile. Additionally, users can visit other profiles "incognito", so they don't appear in the "visitors history".

Which file formats can I upload?

Pictures can be uploaded as jpg, gif, png, pdf, tif, bmp and eps.

I registered but do not receive an e-mail confirmation.

Normally you receive an e-mail confirmation within a few minutes after your registration. If this is not the case, please have a look in your spam filter. Should you find no e-mail there please contact us via our contact form.

I forgot my password / want to change my password.

In case of having forgotten your password you can click on “Forgot Password?” to receive a new password via e-mail. If you want to change your password, go to your private section “My Account / Private / Settings / Change Password”.

Can I add links to my portfolio?

Yes, you have the possibility of integrating links into different sections of your profile.

Can I unsubscribe the newsletter?

Yes, every newsletter contains a link at the end saying “Unsubscribe Newsletter”. Moreover, you can use the function “My Account / Private / Settings / Unsubscribe Newsletter” in your private section.

Can I invite friends?

Yes, on the PP cover page you find the form “Recommend Portfoliopool”. For sending personal invitations to your friends go to “My Account / Private / Invitation”.

How can I improve my chances to be found by other users and clients?

To attract attention to your portfolio you have to be active. Here are some tips and tricks, how you can easily draw traffic to your portfolio:

1. choose a representative and curiosity causing portfolio preview picture (Photographer=Photo)
2. choose your work carefully = quality, not quantity
3. utilise your storage space and show your work (nobody cares about empty portfolios)
4. update your portfolio continiously (listing under latest updated portfolios)
5. take care in filling your profile and add detailed text-infos
6. build up your network (socialise with other portfoliopool users)
7. nominate other users as favourites and become nominated
8. leave comments on other user's portfolios
9. write messages to other users
10. have a look at other user's portfolios and appear in their visitor statistics
11. found a group, become a member of a group, lead a group and invite users to join your group
12. publish events
